Information on the upcoming Palm Treo 800w continues to leak out. This time we have what is said to be prototype pictures of the upcoming Treo 800w. Sprint is supposed to be the likely candidate to release this Treo in July.
Specifications include 320x320 display, Windows Mobile 6.1, EV-DO Rev. A, and GPS.
If this picture is indeed a prototype, we're glad to see a hole for the microphone on the face of the unit. This would hopefully increase the quality of sound and reduce background noise....read more
During a press event to announce the launch of MWg in Europe, a roadmap from the device manufacturer seemed to indicated that Windows Mobile 7 might be available later this year. The company showed a roadmap listing several smartphones and handhelds and one of them indicated a Q4 release with Windows Mobile 7.

According to Bloomberg, US cell phone carrier Sprint may start selling assets to help improve a bad situation for the company. After losing more than 1 million customers last quarter things are looking down for Sprint. In fact, Sprint's quarterly net loss was $505 million.
Some options include selling of Nextel or finding a buyer for the company. They will also be closing Sprint stores and lowering prices.

Palm has sent a letter out to their developer community confirming the existence of two new phones. The letter asks their launch developers to submit applications for participation in the launch of the new devices. The new devices, Zeppelin and Skywriter could come out later this year as the application deadline is May 30.
One of the devices is rumored to be a Centro-like Windows Mobile phone.

According to WMExperts, Sprint will be releasing the Treo 800w on July 22. No word on where they got the information but it seems to fit the earlier leaked roadmaps for Sprint.

Rumors of a new Sprint Treo 800w have been around for a couple of years now. With the recent announcement of a new version of Windows Mobile (6.1) comes word that Sprint will release a Palm Treo 800w running the new Windows Mobile.
The new Treo is expected to have WiFi, Bluetooth and a 320x320 resolution. It is also expected to include GPS and a 2 megapixel camera.
